Phase Monitoring (Three-phase systems)

• Phase Loss Detection: Cuts off power if one phase fails to protect motors from overheating.

• Phase Sequence Verification: Prevents reverse rotation by ensuring correct L1‑L2‑L3 order.

• Phase Imbalance Detection: Trips if one phase deviates significantly from the other two.

• Rated voltage:

  • Typically 1,000 V DC (IEC)

  • Up to 1,500 V DC on newer UL/TÜV/ULJ certified versions 

• Rated current:

  • Generally 30 A for 2.5–6 mm² (10–14 AWG) cables.

  • Heavy-duty versions support up to 45–69 A for larger conductors (4–10 mm²) .

• Test/Impulse voltage:

  • Dielectric test: 6 kV (50 Hz, 1 min) .

  • Impulse withstand: typically 8–16 kV depending on version .

• Contact resistance:

  • Very low: ≤0.2–0.5 mΩ for original MC4; budget types may be ≤5 mΩ
